Hodgkins Lymphoma

Etiology

  • 10% of lymphomas
  • Originates in lymph tissue

Risk Factors

  • Hiv +
  • EBV infection
  • Fam hx
  • Age 15-40 & > 55

Symptoms

  • B symptoms: fever, chills, sweats, weight loss in ~1/3 (typically w/advanced disease)
  • Decreased appetite
  • Painless adenopathy (in particular, head/neck)
  • Cough/sob if mediastinal involvement
  • Generalized puritus in up to 30% of patients w/Hodgkins

Physical Exam Findings

  • Painless
  • Progressive "rubbery" adenopathy, in particular head/neck/supraclavicular areas
  • Sometimes splenomegaly, hepatomegaly
