- May have structural abnormality in lobe that is site of origin for seizure
- Consciousness not impaired, though can have brief confusion w/full recovery
- Tend to be recurrent
- Observed abnormalities related to area of brain affected
- Parietal lobs: focal numbness, tingling
- Occipital lobe: visual disturbances
- Frontal lobe: feeling like a wave moving thru head, arm/hand twitching
- Temporal lobe: aura of rising epigastric discomfort/sensation, like a roller coaster, then brief sense anxiety/fear; Sometimes dry mouth
- Observed abnormalities related to area of brain affected
