Etiology

  • Disc herniation
  • Osteophytes→ narrowing neuroforamina
  • Brachial plexus injury or compression w/apical lung tumor
  • Other: fracture, infection, cancer

Symptoms

  • Acute if disc herniation or trauma
  • More typically sub-acute and chronic, pain radiates from neck down arm in accordance w/distribution of nerve, sx wax and wane, C7 and C6 roots most commonly affected
