- Average age 58 (younger than typical AD)
- Dominant feature is change in personality & behavioral problems→ ranging from withdrawl to aggression
- Loss of sense of social norms, impulsivity (e.g. hypersexuality, spending money irresponsibly)
- Can also experience aphasia, difficulty with speech/formulating words/sentences
- Progression/clinical course over time
- MOCA or other cognitive function screen
- MRI brain to assess for structural issues, sometimes see fronto-temporal atrophy
- Labs to r/o tox/metabolic/other contributors
- Neuropsychiatric testing can be helpful - isolate discrete areas of functional impairment, follow serially for objective progression over time.
