Etiology

  • Virus spread by Aedes Aegytpi mosquito, South and Central America, Africa, Carribean

Symptoms

  • Incubation 3d-2w
  • Fever, conjunctivitis, arhthralgias of hands/feet, ha, rash, myalgia
  • Symptoms typically resolve in few days
  • Severe sx rare; 80% are asx
  • Major concern relates to infection during pregnancy→ CNS teratogen→ microcephaly, other

Physical Exam Findings

  • Fever
  • Maculo-papular rash
  • Non-purulent conjunctivitis
