Etiology

  • Least common of the primary headache syndromes

Symptoms

  • Recurrent (at least 5 episodes) and brief→15-180 minutes
  • Severe in intensity
  • Focused unilaterally around eye/temporal area

Physical Exam Findings

  • Often one/several of the following on same side as HA: tearing, nasal congestion or rhinorrhea, conjunctival injection, eyelid edema, forehead/facial sweating, miosis and/or ptosis
