- Pre-blister phase w/itching, plaques on trunk and extremities that can last for weeks
- Then tense blisters (sub-epidermal splitting of skin)
- Can affect mucous membranes
- Tense blisters (sub-epidermal)
- Can be large (several cm in diameter)
- Often symmetric involving extremities, trunk
- Up to 30% w/oral involvement
- Erosions when blisters rupture
- Oral mucosal erosions
