  • Transient disruption in blood flow to an area of the brain, which resolves spontaneously

Risk Factors

  • Diabetes, htn, hyperlipidemia, smoking, known coronary or cerebral vascular disease, male, age > 50, family history early vascular disease

Symptoms

  • Stroke symptoms that resolve w/in 24 h
  • High risk for recurrent TIA or stroke
