Gastric Or Duodenal|External Compression

Etiology

  • Massively enlarged spleen (CLL, CML), massive pancreatic pseudocyst, abdominal lymphoma, other mass (benign or malignant)

Symptoms

  • Weight loss
  • Progressive early satiety from compressive effect on stomach or duodenum
  • Persistent/progressive nausea and vomiting
  • Other sx associated with the primary process (e.g. fever, sweats w/leukemia or lymphoma)

Physical Exam Findings

  • May have palpable mass (e.g. spleen)
  • Other findings associated w/the primary process (e.g. adenopathy)
