Sites

  • Typically extenser surfaces of arm/forearms, legs, thighs, sometimes face

Etiology

  • Hair follicles that get plugged with keratin

Risk Factors

  • Dry skin
  • Atopic dermatitis

Symptoms

  • Not painful
  • Multiple, small bumps that appear on arms/forearms, legs
  • Chronic and sometimes progressive
  • Sometimes erythematous
  • Occasionally itch

Physical Exam Findings

  • Fields of papules
  • Sometimes erythematous
  • Most commonly on arms, legs, back
  • Skin is often dry
