- Oro-pharynx, lymph nodes, systemic
- Spread by direct contact→ kissing, shared drinking glasses, shared toothbrushes, etc
- Prodrome 1-2w of fatigue, myalgias, arthralgias; then f, sore throat
- Sometimes precipitates Guillain-Barre
- Fatigue can sometimes persist for weeks/months
- CMV can also cause mono, w/same presentation
- Maculo-pap rash after amox or other abx
- Head/neck adenopathy
- Atypical lymphocytosis on differential
- + Monospot
