- Rapid onset sx usually following treatment initiation or dose change, though can occur if received rx w/in 5w
- Sometimes med combinations precipitate syndrome
- Intentional overdose
- Agitation/easily startled
- Hypertension
- Tachycardia
- Tachypnea
- Dilated pupils
- Tremor
- Clonus
- Hyper-reflexia
- Spectrum of findings and severity
- Hyperthermia to > 41c
- Flushed & sweaty skin
- Confusion/aggitation to coma
- Increased bowel sounds
- Muscular hyperactivity/stiffness
