Etiology

  • Due to a local eye problem, including: refractive error, lid (e.g. compression from chalazion), cornea (e.g. keratoconus), lens (cataract), iris/pupil, vitreous, retinal pathology, or disorder affecting occipital lobe

Symptoms

  • Present with even one eye closed

Physical Exam Findings

  • Might have impaired acuity
  • Detailed exam to identify pathologies above (e.g. lid abnormality, cataract, retinal pathology, etc).
