- Uncommmon auto-immune d/o affecting cartilage
- Subacute inflammation, most commonly affecting cartilage of the ear (can wax and wane)
- Can also affect nose → stuffiness, epistaxis, d/c
- Trachea → stridor/sob, cough, wheezing
- Other locally affected organ-specific symptoms: eyes, joints, kidneys, other
- Generalized: fever, fatgue, weight loss, joint pain
- Saddle-nose deformity from cartilage collapse
- Ear pain, redness and swelling (spares lobe)
- Joint pain and swelling
- Hearing loss (sensorineural)
- Joint pain (usually multiple) pain and swelling (inflammatory arthritis)
