Etiology

  • Strep
  • H flu
  • Moraxella
  • Other

Symptoms

  • Acute
  • Cough
  • Persistent
  • Colored d/c
  • Fever
  • Tooth or facial pain
  • Sx lasting > 10d, or sx that improve initially and then worsen

Physical Exam Findings

  • Fever
  • Pain upon precussion of sinuses
  • Post nasal drip evident on pharynx
  • Purulent nasal d/c
  • Tooth pain if tapped
  • Maxillary sinus doesn't transilluminate
