Etiology

  • Chlamydia infection w/predilection for affecting the respiratory tract

Risk Factors

  • Living in close contact w/someone who is infected

Symptoms

  • Most people are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms
  • Of those w/symptoms, upper respiratory tract most common, including stuffed nose, change in voice/hoarseness from laryngitis, sore throat
  • Fever, non-productive cough
  • Can cause pneumonia, though overall an uncommon cause of CAP
