- Upper airwary, rarely lung
- Gram negative rod
- Uncommon cause CAP
- Vax of kids and re-vax of adults preventive
- Kids can have airway compromise due to small size
- Incubation avg 7-10d
- Catarrhal stage 1-2w→ cold sx, sometimes low grade T
- Then paroxysmal stage→ characteristic whooping cough, post-tussive vomiting
- Convaslescent stage→ adults present w/persistent cough x 6-10 weeks
