  • Costochondritis: idiopathic pain and inflammation at junction of ribs cartilage & sternum


  • Worse w/movement or use

Physical Exam Findings

  • Pain that's reproducible with palpation and/or other provocative testing
  • Typically no external/obvious abnormalities upon inspection
  • W/costochondritis, area of specific pain is para-sternal (ie at junction of rib and sternum)
