- Acute, crampy, lower abdominal/pelvic area pain
- Passage of clot thru vagina
- Sometimes fetus passed as well
- Cervix visibly open with tissue extruding or passed
- Complete: cervix dilated, all products conception expelled
- Incomplete: cervix dilated, some products of conception retained
- Inevitible: cervix dilated, products of conception haven't yet passed
- Missed: non-viable pregnancy, but cervix closed and products of conception haven't yet passed
