- Unprotected intercourse
- Men who have sex w/men
- Sex w/prostitutes
- Sex w/someone known hiv +
- May have hx genital ulcer prior (primary syphilis)
- Rash - in particular on palms, soles
- Adenopathy, fever
- Secondary manifestations weeks after primary chancre heals
- Condyloma lata→ moist, frond-like growth in genital area
- Non-specific rash, w/predilection for palms, and soles
- Oral ulcers, rectal ulcers → mucosal involvement
