Etiology
Idiopathic d/o
Small-to-medium vessel vasculitis
W/high levels circulating and tissue invasive eosinophils
Risk Factors
Men=women
Symptoms
Progressive
F
C
Muscle aches
Heart failure
Adult onset asthma, cough & wheezing, nasal stuffiness→ w/resp sx usually ~2-10 y prior to systemic sx assoc w/eosinophilic deposition in target organs and vasculitis
In these later phases→ systemic sx including: sob from parenchymal lung involvement
Hematuria from renal involvement
Pericarditis and dysrhythmia w/cardiac involvement
Peripheral neuropathy related weakness, numbness
Physical Exam Findings
Wheezing
Skin findings of vasculitis: small, palapable purpura, don't blanch when compress them, can coalesce
