Normocytic: Anemia of chronic disease or inflammation, acute blood loss, copper defic, renal insufficiency, hemolysis, leukemias; of note, iron deficiency without anemia (which can develop later) is normocytic
May have more than one process contributing to anemia (e.g. iron deficiency and hypothyroidism), with net result being normocytic)
