Secondary seizures are caused by an underlying process (i.e. not primarily epilepsy). History is key, as could be LOC w/o seizure. If seizure observed, can be generalized or focal. Treatment and/or resolution of the primary process will often resolve the risk of seizures. If the primary problem leads to permanent structural injury (e.g. tumor, trauma), then this may result in epilepsy.
